IllumiNeuro Protocol (IllumiNeuro): Research, Mechanism & Current Evidence
Vendor blend of four cognitive-research peptides. The blend itself has never been studied.
Also known as IllumiNeuro
What is IllumiNeuro Protocol?
IllumiNeuro is not a compound. It is a commercial blend containing four separate peptides studied in cognitive research: PE-22-28, Pinealon, NA-Semax Amidate and NA-Selank Amidate.
It exists as a vendor product rather than as a research subject, which is the single most important thing to understand about it.
What is IllumiNeuro Protocol researched for?
Each component has its own small research literature. PE-22-28 is studied as an antidepressant candidate in animal models; Pinealon in neuroprotection; the Semax and Selank variants in cognition and anxiety respectively.
There is no research programme on the combination.
- Combined BDNF support and neuritogenic effects may enhance memory formation and learning.
- NA-Semax component supports sustained attention and mental clarity.
- Multiple pathways protecting neural tissue from oxidative stress and damage.
- NA-Selank provides anxiolytic effects through GABA modulation.
- Immune-neuroendocrine support helps with stress resilience.
- Combined effects on neurotransmitter systems may improve overall mood.
- PE-22-28 promotes neural connectivity and neurite extension.
- Pinealon supports healthy sleep-wake cycles and pineal function.
How does IllumiNeuro Protocol work?
The four components act through unrelated mechanisms — potassium channel blockade, proposed gene-expression effects, and neurotrophic signalling. There is no published rationale explaining why combining them should be additive.
Combining compounds with different mechanisms is a hypothesis, not a finding.
What does the research show?
None specific to the blend. Any evidence cited for it belongs to individual components, and in several cases to the unmodified parent peptides rather than the modified versions actually included.
Limitations of the current evidence
Evidence for individual ingredients does not transfer to a mixture. Interactions between the four have not been studied.
Two of the four components are modified analogues whose own evidence base is thinner than that of their parent compounds.

Common questions
What's in IllumiNeuro and why is it a blend?
IllumiNeuro combines four neuroactive peptides: PE-22-28 (neurite growth), Pinealon (pineal/circadian support), NA-Semax (BDNF/neuroprotection), and NA-Selank (anxiety relief). The blend targets multiple cognitive pathways simultaneously for theoretically broader benefits than any single peptide.
Does IllumiNeuro work for anxiety specifically?
The NA-Selank component has documented anxiolytic effects via GABA modulation. However, no clinical studies exist on this four-peptide combination. Individual peptides show promise for anxiety in research, but human efficacy data is limited.
