Tissue repair & recovery research
Wound healing, tendon, gut and blood-vessel research.
Tissue repair research studies how the body rebuilds itself after injury: how wounds close, how tendons and muscle recover, and how new blood vessels form to supply healing tissue. Compounds in this area are usually studied for their effect on cell migration, collagen production and inflammation.
Most of the evidence here comes from laboratory and animal studies. Where human data exists it is generally small and early, and the entries say so.
